Home DIY Gel Polish Manicure

I've finally come down to blogging about how to have your manicure last more than 2 weeks by just doing a your simple home manicure session on your own.

Soak off gel, unlike the earlier generation of UV gel manicure where you will need a flat brush while 'dripping' your gel onto your nail is much simpler and trouble free in comparison. You can basically 'soak off' your gel polish by wrapping aka soaking the acetone on your nails. Ok, maybe it's easier to just go through the basic steps one by one instead. =) We will start the steps with clean nails:-

STEP 1:  Oil Free - Make sure your nail is entirely oil free. Wash with hand soap and make sure you rinse it thoroughly. Any substance on your nail might affect the duration of the gel polish on your nail.

STEP 2: Nail Shaping - In this session you will have to do a basic manicure without applying cuticle oil on your finger nor nail. This is CRUCIAL. Remember, No Substance on the nail...! You can apply the cuticle oil once your manicure is completed.

Here are some tools you will need in this session:-

STEP 2.1:  Make sure your grown nail are away from your cuticle.  This is essential to avoid the gel polish from sticking onto your finger. You can also use the tip of the cuticle pusher to remove the excess gel polish before curing under the led light.

STEP 2.2:  Nip off the dead skin and excess skin from your finger.

STEP 2.3:   File your nail tip shape according to your preference - Straight or Oval. This file is only used for tip shaping (strictly not filing on your nail surface or it will badly damage your nail).

STEP 2.4:  At this point of time there will be filing debris all over your finger. Again, I remind you... NO water or any other substance - just use this Manicure Cleaning Brush to brush out the debris on your nails and fingers will do. =)

STEP 2.5:   This is ONE of the MOST important tool you will need in a gel manicure. You will have to lightly file the surface of your nails. This step is the exact opposite of doing a normal polish manicure. Normal polish you will need to buff to a smooth nail surface to complete the look, where in gel... a smooth nail surface just won't hold the gel. =) Therefore, it is a very essential step where you actually file every part of your nail surface... e-ve-ry single part of your nail! (File it gently, you dont have to file off your entire nail ) *giggles*

STEP 2.6:  Then, use your Manicure Clean up Brush again.. to brush off the debris. After this step, your gel polish manicure is close to completion. :)

STEP 3:  Gel Polish - Choose the Telisha Soak Off Gel polish of your choice. I would highly recommend this All-in-One Soak Off Gel. As this is so far the only soak off gel that incorporated base and top coat into one bottle with the gel polish. The most you will need is to be in and out of the LED light three times for one hand unlike having to do through one layer of :-

base coat - led light - wipe off excess gel - one layer gel polish - led light - another layer gel polish - led light - top coat - led light - wipe off excess gel.

This Telisha All-in-One Gel Polish is a saviour to all gel polish lover who enjoys doing their own manicure at the comfort of their home.

The application process is shorten to just one layer gel color - led light - one layer gel color - led light and you are DONE!! =)

You may like it three layers for certain color base on the formula. But, HEY.. it's so much simpler and trouble free. Besides saving tons of your time, you save cost in purchase extra items too.

Telisha has more than a 100 colors, we have only listed the ready stock items on our website thus far. If you are interested in any other colors we shown in the poster, do let us know and we will place pre order for you.

STEP 4:  LED Lamp - There are UV lamp commonly sold in the market and most of them are lower price than LED light. But, bear in mind it will take at least 4-6 minutes for EVERY LAYER of your application. Scroll back up to the application process of normal soak off gel that requires base coat and top coat, you can do the maths how many 4-6 minutes you will need for one layer of application plus the time you will need to also take the acetone to wipe off the excess base and top coat. This LED lamp that I am so proud to have in my web store will only take 30 seconds of your precious time of each layer. YES.. ONLY 30 seconds! It makes your home gel manicure session much much much shorter. You will be able to enjoy your gel manicure session much better than using a UV lamp to cure your soak off gel. The only draw back of this LED lamp is... It only cures LED gel polish aka soak off gel, however, UV lamp could cure both UV and LED lamp (at the 4-6 minutes curing time).

I personally love soak off gel, and since Telisha all-in-one could provide me such convenience that could be cured under 30secs a layer.. these two combo have become my top favourite!

STEP 5:  Removal.  Removing gel polish could be pain in the xxx for many... but not until the birth of our 'Soak Off Gel Removal Wrap'.  Just spare less than 5 minutes using the black sponge filer to file off the top surface of your nail so that the acetone in the removal wrap could penetrate into the gel polish and 'soften' the gel.  (Refer to the photo instructions on the removal process.)

Now, that's all for the process and tools needed for a home diy gel manicure. =) It's already a very long post to read on. Have fun doing your home gel manicure! Click on the photo above to purchase the respective items from our web store for your home gel mani now! =)

New Arrival: The month of November

We have added quite a number of new items into the website... but, due to the setting up of our barcode and inventory system we don't really have the time to post about the new updates like how we used to do. Sorry about that!

In the earlier post, I mentioned we have new 15 secs LED light and all-in-one soak off gel.... besides, we also have quite some new nail wraps, nail stickers and yada yada. Oh wait, also the ready stock of Orly and Seche polish. Yes, Seche do carry nail polishes... everyone is so trilled by Seche Vite and Seche Restore and sadly their nail polishes are overlooked.

Im gonna just post up some pictures here and there as if I were to upload all the photos it will take you at least 30minutes to read all of them. On top of that, I still have so much work to do in printing and sticking the barcodes for our inventory. (need to get things organised).

Alright, here we come...

Note: I can't put it any bigger for this photo. Do click on it to view it on your browser.

This Telisha soak off gel is a bottle of Top+Base+Color Gel ALL in ONE! YES!!!! There's no need of base and top coat and go through UV/LED light every single layer. I tried on two colors and it lasted more than 3 weeks!!! Yup you got it right, it's 3 weeks!!! I did not take a photo on my nail as my photo taking skill way too lousy as compared to the nail swatches out there so I dare not post it up so spoil the quality of the gel polish. It was quite easy to remove by just using a gel polish remover wrap for a good 10 minutes. (photo and product listing for this nail wrap will only be up later). As for the Telisha soak off gel, I have a few bottles of the ready stock in hand, check out the product name with (RS) in front.

The POWERFUL 15secs LED Light for gel polish
Words can't express how much I love about this LED light. I have one of course, to try out how powerful and efficient it is. And true enough... It really cures the gel in 15 secs!! Before the arrival of this LED light, I bought one UV light to test it out. The UV light lamp is huge, take out a lot of space... and worst of all, it took me more than 4 minutes for each layer! I can still feel the stickiness after more than 4 minutes of curing time. Even normal nail polish with seche vite never took that long.

So this 15 secs LED light was like a WOW to me!!! Love it to the maximum. It's also very light and small, you could just bring it anywhere with you as long as there's a socket to plug in. There's SIX colors for you to choose, which is your favourite?

Nail Art Stickers

There are Christmas Theme's nail art stickers too that were just newly added into the website. They are pretty cute though!! Just perfect for your Christmas-y nail art design.

Besides the Christmas theme stickers, there are quite a number of 3D Embroided stickers for nail design as well as some french tip stickers. I'll just upload few of the photos here.

Oh wait, there are some nail wraps too... Some of them have pretty unique designs.

Some of the pretty Orly polishes newly arrived in stock. (I know the write up of each section is getting shorter hahahah)

Elation Generation

Macabre Masquerade
Lavish Bash
Fight On
Sparkling Garbage

And finally, Seche polishes... =)

Not Easily Swept Away
Dainty Decadence
Take Chances

What a rojak (jumbled/mixed up) post. LOL. Well, time is so little where work is too much.. right? *grin*

Back from business trip

Hello!!!  We are back in Malaysia! Thank you for placing your order with us while we were away. Will process and post out your parcels tmr!  <3

We have brought back quite some interesting items... but that will take us awhile to get things organise. :p

Can't wait to show you all of them...

P/s: We will launch the all in one soak off gel without the application of base and top coat together with the 15secs auto off LED lamp that dries your gel polish with at most 30secs each layer. I've personally tried it and it works more than perfectly. And, have I mentioned the gel polish remover wrap too?  It's gonna be so interesting!!

Do stay tuned!!  *grin*

New Items: 20th Oct 2013

We have finally added an acrylic nail polish wall display rack in our online store. And it's a Large size. Huray!!!!!  This acrylic wall display could hold 90-96 bottles of nail polishes depending on the bottle size of the brands. You can choose to either hang in on the wall with the two screws that come with it or, simply place it on the floor. And it's for sure you have to lean it against the wall to secure it. :P

You know I have thousands and millions of items I would want to have in the website but the short of hands and the tons of seminars, exhibitions, courses and yada yada actually took so much of our time away... It's just like a vampire who sucked out all the times we have and each day when we come to realise the time it's always (almost always) passed bedtime.

We are always here and there and everywhere physically but could not really get down in listing products up on time. That reminds me the few bottles of Butter London and NCLA nail lacquers (or we call it nail polish) that I've grabbed in an exhibition. Of course they are genuine as I got it with the NCLA licensed distributor Singapore. That should not even be the question.  =) I've posted them into our FB page but not here.
Hollywood Hills Hot Number

Lax Jet Setter

Glitter Riot

Just noticed not all the photos' background are white... ah.. doesn't really matter, right? The most important thing is the beauty in the bottle is shown clearly. Hollywood Hills Hot Number is so bling that hubby commented it's as though it's a disco light ball. I agree. It reminds me pretty much of China Glaze's Techno by looking at it at the first glance. The only different I can tell by looking at it is... NCLA's Hollywood Hills Hot Number look much more concentrated from the bottle. You can use it plain or layering on top of different base color that you desire.

Found this photo while googling for the best layering looking swatches and this came right to me (note: I do not own this photo, credit to the blogger who swatched it). You can layer more than one to get your desired look on your nails. Sometimes, less is best... too! Depends on occasions and depends on you.

Found another swatches done by another blogger, this is layered on a silvery base color. The outcome is pretty stunning. But I personally love the look of it on a darker base.

Glitter Riot, though it's name contains 'glitter'... doesn't really carry out the glittery look to me. Instead, it seems more sandy/muddy/beanny kinda effect for me. Sandy and Muddy mainly becos of the brown base, beanny as the black and white 'glitters' reminds me of red beans... I have no idea why. haha. But whosoever that love pastel polish, this would definitely suits you. So you get to enjoy the look of having glitter without too striking tones that doesn't suit you.

Lax Jet Setter, is a gun metal silvery gray polish. I belief it would bring out the effect of having nail wrap instead of nail polish. =)

Wow, this post took so much longer than the time I expected. Maybe that's why generally our DGB updates are kinda short LOL. Can I just upload the other few bottles of my Butter London without giving my opinion? Feeling so draggy here...

Ok, can't help but to write a little as photos could not fully show how pretty these colors are.

Dosh
Dosh is a pretty apple green with super fine pink or red shimmer I can't really tell (yes it is that fine) along with green shimmer. Photo can't justify how pretty the combination of the base and shimmers are.

Fairy Lights
Fairy Light, super pretty pink and silver chrome effect polish. I can't tell you how much I love duo or more chrome polishes... It's so pretty that by just looking at the bottle could took my breath away.

Knackered
Another chrome-ish Butter London polish I grabbed. I would say this is the Love at First Sight lacquer at the stop. Could not keep my eyes away from it. Extremely love the combination of sweet pink together with bluish/greenish chrome and holographic shimmer. I can't tell you exactly how many tones I see from the bottle... it's definitely more than 3.  I have to keep telling myself that this is the stock for purchase so I should not keep it for personal use. :'( It's really breathtaking...

Diamond Geezer

Diamond Geezer was grabbed by my aunt-in-law the moment I posted it on my facebook page. =)

That's all for my updates today. What a long draggy post. I myself personally have stop blogging for awhile. Now I gotto pick up my long lost hobby - blogging.. once again!!

And, happy Monday!
